Free agent CB Nnamdi Asomugha is scheduled to visit the Saints tomorrow, according to a source. Nnamdi cant leave without a contract. Loomis and Ryan lets go.. |
There are a couple people that reported this, I can't post links because I'm on my phone but I believe I even saw the official Saints twitter page tweet that he was coming in to visit

Nnamdi visiting Saints on Sunday
Posted by Mike Florio on March 16, 2013, 11:55 PM EDT 9845720-large Getty Images The Saints are one of the teams interested in cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha. And now Asomugha is interested in the Saints. Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com reports that Asomugha will visit the Saints on Sunday. As recently explained, the relationship between Asomugha and Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan could be a huge factor. “[Asomugha] loves him and trusts him,” a source with knowledge of the situation recently told PFT. The Nnamdi-Ryan connnection, which traces to their mutual time together in Oakland, nearly resulted in Asomugha joining the Cowboys in 2011. At last word, Asomugha was in “serious discussions” with the 49ers. Other interested teams include the Cardinals, Broncos, and Texans. |
It is pretty interesting that now both Nnamdi and Ed Reed are going to be in NoLa at the same time. Restructures and/or cuts on the way??

Re: nnamdi asomugha to visit
Restructure Harper, buy Shanle a bus ticket outta here and get these 2 guys on board!!!!!

Re: nnamdi asomugha to visit
Well Rob Ryan has been pushing hard for us to bring him in and it looks like he is getting his wish. Wouldn't surprise me if Asomugha is a Saint by the end of Sunday or early next week. If Ryan is really this intent on getting him, I can't see us not signing him.

Re: Namdi coming to New Orleans tommorow!!!!
I'm very excited about this, but I'm torn also. Can we afford him after the big Keenan Lewis contract? And we still need a left tackle and a defensive end, but I guess we can address these in the draft.
Cutting Roman Harper outright would allow us to address ALL of these however..... |
Re: nnamdi asomugha to visit
Asomugha and Lewis and our secondary has received a nice overhaul.

Re: nnamdi asomugha to visit
This guy very easily could revive his career with a coach that knows his strengths and uses him to maximize them. As always it will come down to money.
