So as long as you don't leave him 1 on 1 with Torrey Smith. But honestly, what CB could go 1 on 1 with Torrey Smith?

Anyways, it was more of the wrong system than level of play for Nnamdi.

Baily got it done except for being completely shafted in the playoffs.

Don’t rule out Saints in Nnamdi chase | ProFootballTalk
The 49ers have lured cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha back to the Bay Area for a visit. But don’t rule out the team that employs one of the men who coached Nnamdi when he played in Oakland.

Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan is believed to be making a big push to get Nnamdi to New Orleans, per a source with knowledge of Asomugha’s situation.

Other interested teams include the Cardinals, Texans, and Broncos.

When Asomugha signed with the Eagles in 2011, Ryan’s Cowboys provided the stiffest competition. In the end, Asomugha picked Philly, but only after Ryan nearly convinced him to choose Dallas.

Said the source of Asomugha’s attitude toward Ryan: “[Asomugha] loves him and trusts him.”

If Nnamdi, who has never played in a playoff game during 10 NFL season, gets out of San Fran without a contract, the Saints could be the team to watch.

As crazy as it sounds, I'm hearing we have SLIGHTLY more cap space than the niners at this point, so we could afford to pay him slightly more than them.

Can anybody verify this?

Shoe, we also need a Left Tackle, Backup Quarterback, 3-4 Defensive End.

With that said you can still lure him in with a big signing bonus but low base salary so you won't take too much off the cap.

Yeah you right.

Lol But can't i just enjoy the thought for a little while?

I'm hoping we can land an older QB FA on the relative-cheap, and with some luck land either an OT or DE/OLB instant-impact player in the draft, so our major FA signings can have some more $$ behind them. After all, money talks and...well you know what walks.

In the end I am a realist about the "stars aligning" nature of my FA/draft hopes. But it sure would be nice for PayLoo to not hit a homer, but a bases clearing Grand Slam.
