Sherman expected blowout win, blames loss on bad calls
Some would say Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman is a bad winner. On Sunday, he came off as a bad loser.
After the Seahawks absorbed a 19-17 loss to the 49ers, Sherman blamed the loss on the officiating. “We didn’t project it to be this way,” Sherman said, via quotes distributed by the 49ers. “We expected to blow them out but they got the benefit of a few calls tonight throughout the game and that helps you especially on third down, we will see them again and it will be a different result.” He reiterated that he expected a blowout for the Seahawks, and that the home team “got a few questionable calls on third down.” Sherman also disputed the notion that the return of receiver Michael Crabtree, who missed the Week Two game between the teams due to a torn Achilles tendon, made a difference for the 49ers. “It didn’t make a difference,” Sherman said. “It didn’t make a difference at all. . . . The penalties, that is what made the difference today.” Regardless, the 49ers won. If there’s a rubber match in the postseason, the Seahawks most likely will host the game. And that’s what will make the difference in January. Sherman expected blowout win, blames loss on bad calls | ProFootballTalk |

We said it after they beat the hell out of us. The whole D backfield seem to be a bunch of cocky jerks. You have to respect there play, but it's hard when they want to rub it in your face.

I don't remember ANY Saints player/coach blame that loss on the officiating, or saying they expected a blow-out win.

Over on their board, which I have been abruptly banned from, they are now speculating that the Chickens threw the game as not to expose their entire playbook.
LOL And they had yet to clinch the division? LOL GO GIANTS. GO ELI. Shred the SeaChickens. Make them accept a Wild Card game. Alaska |

Re: Sherman expected blowout win, blames loss on bad calls
I never heard Sherman use the term "bad calls". He said the refs calls "affected the game". The problem that I see is inconsistency. Most weeks they allow grabbing of the jersey but this week they didn't. The Hawks had every break in the world go against them (blocked punt, 53 yard field goal, weird offensive penalties) and yet lost by two points and had the lead until the last drive. Just let the teams decide the game is all I am saying. As far as the future goes, the Niners have scored one touchdown on us all year...

No, the Seahawks are not going to pull out their playbook and they played very conservatively. Why would you pull out the stops with a foe you will probably see again? That would be stupid. The game was meaningless and yet the Niners had to pull out all the stops to win.. There is no way in hell they are losing to the Giants which means they have to win one game at home with a Quarterback who has never lost at The Clink. |
