this is a discussion within the NFL Community Forum; I like the idea. I can see teams weighing the option of going for the 8th point vs only getting 6. You don't think the Saints would have done this against Seattle in the playoffs?...

I like the idea.

It will be the exact same decision as it always has been. Teams would 99 percent of the time go for the sure thing instead of risking losing it. But when they HAVE to go for the extra point, they will. Just like always. Like I said, the only difference is you no longer have to work for the one point if you want it, which when you stop and think about it for a second, makes the 7th point just that much more boring. So if the object is to make it more exciting, this plan is a failure. People will not go for the "8th point" any more than they go for two now. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.
