Re: NFL wants Super Bowl halftime performers to pay for the privilege

I understand everyone's view on this, I really do. The price of tickets and the fact that a nylon Jersey with Drew's name on it can cost as much as $300 in the NFL shop is pretty outrageous. I can go on Nike's website and design an entire custom uniform for the same price.

What drove this was the fact that Super Bowl commercials are going for $4mm/30s block. The Super Bowl Half-time is around 30 minutes, 15 minutes +/- of entertainment and the remaining being set up and take down.

15/2 = 30 x $4mm = $120 Million in advertising time.

Is the question 'should the NFL charge people to preform' or is it 'should entertainers get $120 million worth of advertising for free'?
