Re: La'el Collins, What Do We Know?!?

Get the feeling that Collins would rather play tackle over guard because of the pay day, tender issue that he'll arrive at a year sooner because of the path his draft experience has taken...

We may be out of it for that reason...

The fact that Saints officials haven't met with him yet is another consideration...

The only position that may be available on our line would be at right guard with Evans' age, cap number; and we do pay our guards well...

Or he beats Lelito out in this camp; I'm in Team Lelito's camp and think he'll be great get as a starter...

Should Collins come in and compete at Tackle and win out, he could allow for a trade of either Strief or Armstead with the latter the only player to gain significant value...

Rumor has it that's he wants to get out of LA and experience what else is out there since he's been here his whole life. 3 former Tigers on that Dolphin team and Buffalo is courting him hard as well. I'm going to guess Miami.

I sad.

"For Collins, that presents an opportunity to attempt to receive a three-year guarantee of $1,575,000," wrote NFL salary expert Jason Fitzgerald Sunday on his Over The Cap website. "That guarantee would be equivalent to a late second rounder's guarantee through his signing bonus and salary guarantee."

If Collins plays well in his first two seasons, he could opt out of the third year of his contract and get a much more lucrative extension.

Undrafted La'el Collins targeted by several NFL teams

$1,575,000 is chump change for this gamble. take it.

strong selling point for the saints. 2017 is not a cap strapped year. that is the year of the roll over baby.

with 1.5 mill he can buy a few condo all around the country and live where ever he wants in the off season and still be close to mom during the season. ;)

Right and that's what the fear for Saints fans all along has been...

Bet you hit it on the head and that he'd been our first round pick before the Adam Schefter report started this melt-down...

He's supposed to have an air-tight alibi; he was at a New Orleans Pelicans home game planned in advance with family, friends days before...

The only way he could be connected in a negative light to all this is if he somehow conspired with the tragic murder...

If someone close to him acted on his behalf without his knowledge, he still could get some negative public blowback...

Since the baby passed a while after being delivered, will it count as double homicide?

Ask one question. did you do it? answers no then

sign the 1.5 million and all the benifits you can up with. insurance housing cars whatever :p

1.5 mill in dead cap money is not that big of a deal over two years for what the pay off could be. the guy just does not have the list of off the field problems to think he did it. solid gamble in my book.

less of a gamble than some of the other problem children drafted this year.
