Re: Riverboat Ron Gets the Axe!
This is a huyuge mistake on this owner's part, Huyuge - they've been hamstrung with an inaccurate quarterback for several years; they were on the right track, with a rookie quarterback, no less...

Re: Riverboat Ron Gets the Axe!
I have no inside information, but I bet there was a huge dropoff in their season ticket renewals for next year. That's probably the only reason why they'd do this right now, instead of wait until the season ends.

I kinda wondered why now, but then I thought maybe this gives them a jump on finding their next HC cause you know other heads are bound to roll.

Re: Riverboat Ron Gets the Axe!
Yeah, it's just that season ticket deadlines are usually right around now -- I literally just sent in a payment for the Saints on a deadline right after turkey day - and if their ticket sales are really slumping up there in Carolina, they would probably want to do something URGENT to try and get the market flowing again. I would imagine the Panthers are probably getting hit with a wave of cancellations for next year, as people realize that Cam Newton is almost done, the window is closed, and the disappointing season they've had this year. That's just my take on it. The final deadline to renew is usually sometime early in the new year.
