Delay of Game Being Missed
I have seen this many times this season where the ball is snapped after the clock hit zero. Once it hits zero that is a penalty. It has to be snapped at the 1 sec mark, not on the 0 mark.
Anyone else catch this nonsense. I have seen it about 4-5 times this season. At zero there is no time left...meh. As for the punt holding call, Payton has to know that is not going to be called in any situation. Why he did that I do not know because that is standard on punts. And going for 2 on the first score. No idea what that was about. Also not smart. Even if converted still not smart. Both play calls were poor on him. |

As to the 2pt conversion, no idea here either, but to me at least, I like aggressive Sean so whatever. |

Re: Delay of Game Being Missed
I've noticed it too, the refs these days seem to be counting "0" as an extra full second and a half, after the clock gets to zero. It hits zero, then there's another full second, and then an extra "beat" past the full second, and THEN they will stop it and blow the whistle and throw the flag. And it's very inconsistent.
It also seems like they are wiling to "give" that extra second to the guys like Rogers, Mahomes, Brady, Jackson and those types, and less likely to give it to backups or unknowns. There is a huge difference between how the game is called with a superstar QB back there, and how it is called with Joe Anybody under center. Been that way since the Peyton Manning era if not before. |

It happened in the Eagles Giants game Monday night. Eagles went a couple seconds past the zero and no call.
In fact the Eagles benefited from a bunch of calls on crucial downs. Actually reminded me of some of our games. |

Re: Delay of Game Being Missed
I heard an explanation about this several years ago. The ref watches the clock and when it hits zero he looks at the ball and if it hasn’t been snapped he throws the flag. It does give the center an extra half second or so. But as SaintGnome said you can’t watch the clock and the ball at the same time. What they should have is a buzzer on the ref as he watches the ball and when the clock hits zero it buzzes him so he can throw the flag at zero, not a second after zero.

Re: Delay of Game Being Missed
Their was a fake punt in the ARZ/TB game earlier this year where that exact same play resulted in a PI.
Something to chew one. |

Re: Delay of Game Being Missed
People keep pointing out that the TB/ARZ game the guy who caught the ball was not a gunner, but I would like clarification on that because the guy who caught the ball was furthest down field on the sideline like a gunner.
