Re: Joe Burrow should think twice about accepting fate in Cincy Whitlock
I don't usually like it when college players pull this kind of thing (Eli, Elway, etc) but Burrow has already proven himself to be a really very special player, and I am really NOT feeling the "Burrow to Cincy" vibe. I think it will be a mess there, and Burrow should do whatever it takes to get out of it. Cincy right now just isn't a good fit for him (in truth, it isn't a good fit for hardly anybody) and I just think it would be a waste of a very special player to have him slog away his championship window (the rookie deal that lets the team afford to put other key players and pieces around him) on a team that isn't going anywhere. Well, if you're a Burrow fan, there's always the hope of waiting for the second team contract he signs, a few years from now, because unless I am reading these vibes completely wrong, I really don't see this being a success and I don't see him staying there with the Bengals, long term, hoisting the Lombardi, getting his number retired, being THE GUY there in Cincy for many years, etc etc. I just don't feel it in my bones, I don't feel it in my gut -- I simply don't feel like he will be successful in Cincinnati, and sometimes that gut feeling that something isn't right, is really the strongest indicator.
