We've seen what Jameis is in this league for five-plus seasons...

Everyone, and I get it, is judging Taysom against Brees career; well, can we see Taysom over the course of a season?

Can we give the guy more than a handful of games to acclimate to the NFL?

Even Brees was benched a couple of times before he got clicking as a veteran free agent with the Saints...

To be really honest, I'd hoped we ride with Taysom this season, felt Drew just didn't have the stamina to play 16 and a tournament...

And if Taysom were awful, the resultant record would have put us in a better position to grab a franchise QB in the draft...
I would like to see both get equal time under the same center, with the same offensive weapons, and the same playbook. Situational QB rotation this past season, based on down and distance, was a really, really bad idea. One I hope to never see again. If Winston is the superior passer, I hope he gets the starting pos’n. Same for Hill. It has to be an open, best man gets the job, competition. If CSP plays favorites, and isn’t objective in his evaluation, then it would not surprise me to see a player revolt.

Worst thing for this team to see would be exactly what you describe, the naming of Taysom as the starter bc -Coach nubs him, and the Saints go 1-4 over the first handful of games. If “Taysom were awful” and CSP stuck with him for an “entire season”, lol, that locker room would be VERY vocal in their displeasure with leadership. It’s a group of men known to be passionate, vocal, and unapologetic in their beliefs.

Bottom line, if CSP has already chosen to roll with Taysom, and it’s my belief he has..., then he would be wise to not have Winston on the roster at the same time. Me personally, I truly want to see Winston start four games in a Saints uni, we’ve seen Taysom start four.

Or we draft one. If Sean P sees something (PMahommes) in this 2021 class, I hope he pulls the trigger.

We still don't know what Jameis can do in this offense & in a small sample size, Taysom is a fumbler. That's simply not gonna work.

Life after Brees will be interesting as it pertains to the QB position.

Free agency in the QB world makes it "easier" to get a quality and quite possibly a Franchise QB

Re: Observations from yet another Saints early exit in the playoffs

If you think about it since 2006 we never worried about the QB position. Since Drew came to town the Saints have been a competitive team most seasons not to mention that game against the Colts. Actually we have been spoiled for all those years. From a time not so long ago I can remember hitching our wagon to the Joe QB's, Billy Joe Tolliver & Billy Joe Hobert not to mention Chrissy Everett, The Snake, The Cannon, Aaaron, Archie the list goes on. So if Drew decides to hang it up hopefully we won't be back on the QB Carousel.

I'd like to see Rosen get one more shot with a good organization like the Saints.
He might be a good QB. He might stink. I'd like to find out.

We all know Payton can't draft a QB but he knows talent when he sees it in the NFL.
