Anytime we need to stretch the field, Taysom is under center. Brees can no longer effectively throw the deep pass (25-30 yards) consistently. Sanders & 3quan have been limited with #9. |

Re: Brees Additional Injuries
Is the league going to punish the Saints for this? I believe Weeks 8-10 the Saints listed Brees with a shoulder injury, but if it was bothering him all year as his wife says, then I will be surprised if Der Kommisar doesn't do something about it.
I want to know if Brees told SP about it. |

Re: Brees Additional Injuries
Not sold on Winston being the answer at all.
In the very limited minutes this year there wasn't much to see. And you saw last weekend that as good as the D has been even they can't keep bailing you out when defending a short field. Most of my post have probably looked to be critical, its not meant to be but taking the Saints glasses off and just looking at the facts on the table. Personally i quiet excited at a new future and see plenty to be optimistic about. New coaches always bring new ideas and new training regimes, ideas and keep things fresh. Shame we lost Glenn, especially if Allen does get a HC job. Time to move on from some players and 100% time to move on from the sick notes that can't stay healthy over multiple seasons. Some big changes coming but some good drafting the next two years, some clever scouting and trading and there is no reason that by the start of the 2023 the Saints cannot be looking to make a deep run. Tampa will be done by then as even Brady isn't going on much longer,Falcons and Panthers are not great and need to fill as many holes as the Saints. Should have 2 3rd round comp picks this year, and would expect a few next year to go with the 3rd they will have for Terry Fontenot leaving. |
"Two receivers to the left, Garcon to the right. Manning in the shotgun, puts Collie in motion. Looks in his direction...it's picked off! It's picked off! It's Tracy Porter again! He's runnin' free! He's gonna go all the way!

Re: Brees Additional Injuries
Hindsight: he should have stopped playing VERY EARLY in the year and set his sights on next year then. It was a stupid year anyway with Covid and no fans. Nearing the end of his career I can see the desire to keep playing especially with the talent we had. I do not fault him, nor do I hope he retires. One more SHOT Drew!! Come on! The heck with the naysayers...you'll get them onboard with winning. We all know you have it in you. So do you. give it a shot.
On the flip side, if Drew doesn't come back I am very cool with Taysom being our guy, but will miss what I consider could be Drew's possibly best year. Oh yeah, I mean it. |

Once Free Agency begins, we'll see what (if any) the front office is willing to offer with the salary cap constraints. |
