Jameis has had 3 different HC/OC's in 5 seasons.

Sean P turned an unpolished Tony Romo into a really good QB. I'd like to see what he could do with Winston on a FT basis.
Winston and Romo have something in common. They both love to throw to the other team

In the words of that famous American philosopher: Forest Gump, "You can't fix stupid". (Of course I'm referring to the incessant interceptions - not his IQ of which I have no knowledge).

Thirty,

The only people that truly know what improvements/decision making Jameis has or hasn't made over the course of this season is our coaching staff, specifically Sean Payton. Maybe, just maybe SP didn't play him much in efforts to lower his price tag in Free Agency for 2021.

Saints need a QB.

Once Free Agency begins, we'll see what (if any) the front office is willing to offer with the salary cap constraints.

This is supposed to be a team game, no? It's very likely why Tampa attacked. and stacked the line. They brought Jameis in for a trick play long pass. Hill missed a wide open wr for a TD in the previous game. If Brees was that injured, then SP cost the Saints yet another birth to the next round.

+1.

On the "trick play" where Winston threw to a wide open 3quan, I saw 4 defenders trail with AK and jammed Thomas at the line.

And as you stated, Bowles primarily stacked the box and dared Brees to beat us with the long ball. He knew DB posed very little "threat" downfield but it took a well executed gadget play to beat coverage with a live arm of Jameis.

Sean Payton is a top offensive mind, but sometimes I believe he still thinks he has a 30 year old Brees under center.

The trick play had more to do with Jameis athletic ability to run more than the throw itself. Ball only traveled 28 yards in the air and contrary to most of the beliefs on this forum, Drew can make that throw. Now lining up wide and sprinting back to the middle of the field, probably not.

Jameis running? On that defense? If Taysom was in there I could see your argument but JW is no threat to take off and hurt a defense with his legs.

Anytime we need to stretch the field, Taysom is under center. Brees can no longer effectively throw the deep pass (25-30 yards) consistently.

Sanders & 3quan have been limited with #9.

Coach most likely knew Drew's injuries and limitations that's probably why Taysom was such a valuable part of the game plan. I suspect SP freaked when he knew Taysom was out for the Bucs game. Same thing probably with Thomas.

I didn't say a rushing threat, I said athletic ability the run from spread out wide to back to the middle of the field. Never said or intended for Jameis to be a rushing threat.

Re: Brees Additional Injuries

Is the league going to punish the Saints for this? I believe Weeks 8-10 the Saints listed Brees with a shoulder injury, but if it was bothering him all year as his wife says, then I will be surprised if Der Kommisar doesn't do something about it.

I want to know if Brees told SP about it.
