Packers are in similar boat with Saints

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Speaking of that play, I was really surprised the "genius" Lefluer didn't dust it off against Tampa....

Re: Packers are in similar boat with Saints

Everyone forgets the details of Brees' reconstructive shoulder; and the level of commitment in the rehab/training room it took for him to throw again...

Now factor his past injury history vs age, should we really be surprised at his difficulty these past three seasons to consistently push the ball downfield, accurately, in-pace?

The only ones who seem to ignore health and history is Sean Payton/Mickey Loomis and those drinking their coolaid and the bliss of willful ignorance...

For those of my detractors of my criticism of Brees' inability to get the ball downfield, please don't discount my love and appreciation for what he went through and gave to the greater Saints community...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Agreed, nor did I forget (actually I doubt most here forgot Drew’s injury history), but Drew has aged, he’s gotten old. It’s that simple. I don’t see the issue surrounding any of us saying “Drew was the best but his age and injuries are forcing a move forward, without him”. This team is not just Drew Brees, it hasn’t been for years now. A decade ago? Yes. Now? No.

You know JP it’s perfectly said I’m in the same boat on this with Drew. I can’t understand people go off the wall when some say it’s time to move on without our hero. People saying be careful what we wish for. U don’t think we know we’re going to go thru hell possibly to get back to building this team back up to contenders. It’s time folks
