Re: 2021 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook

With a different QB under center & a few new faces on defense, special teams will become even more important in 2021.

P (1) 4 - Blake Gillikin … big shoes to fill after Thomas M.

Curious the Saints haven't assigned jersey nos. to the new kids and that the Saints listed Tanoh Kpassagnon with the same jersey no. as Davenport...

So for what it’s worth, it looks like CJGJ is changing his number this year:

With the new rules implemented relaxing jersey number restrictions he’s been talking about this number change quite a bit on social media.

The caveat is that the player must personally purchase every jersey on the market with the previous number or wait until 2022 to change. He may be able to handle it since he probably doesn't have many factory jersey's or other number related stock out there to drop the dime on.

On the other hand, Kamara may have to pony up big time to buy every NFL sanctioned item with his number on it.

Yep, the Vikings RB Dalvin Cook wanted to change his number to 4 but then he found out it would cost him $1.5 million to do so. A guy like Gardner-Johnson could probably do it with minimal financial impact.

What would JP do?

Me ? Sign him long term. You may not get a better chance.

If Davenport plays (health wise) a full season, his worth could sky rocket.

Agents and players don't want to sign to new deals until next year, as the cap is expected to rise dramatically...

Now if you can secure him at his current number with customary 5% annual pay raises, without a lot of guaranteed money, yeah, I could see it...
