May aswell deactivate Trautman. Vannett and Johnson are much better than him.

Vannett's lone target was definitely a drop. It was undefended and hit his hands. Trautman was targeted twice, catching one and having one knocked out of his hands by the defender, Pierre Desir. It wasn't a drop. Desir was credited with a pass defended. Could he have possibly held on? Yes, it would have been a remarkable catch, but it was possible. Still not a drop, however.

3 4:45 3 4 NOR 43 Taysom Hill pass incomplete deep right intended for Adam Trautman (defended by Pierre Desir)

Am a fan of Trautman, understand the frustration with his development, but he did come from a small school where he likely didn't get the coaching he'd got in Div. I...

That said, his mistake, a coachable mistake, was that he didn't extend his hands, arms out to the ball; this allowed the smaller Desir to reach in and get the PBU...

While I liked the scouting on Trautman, as I really get into the draft process, I was informed enough to know that many scouts described him as raw, so I knew this already...

He's made some remarkable plays already and if you watch his blocking, he's made some plays in that department that don't show up in the stat sheets; Be Patient...

Nuance. Maybe he needs to watch some basketball games to better understand how to use his body, but I'm sure he's been told this more than a thousand times. So, coachable to a point. We have all seen a lot of players 'tease' at the TE position. If he can block, well, we need one of those, but stop sending this guy out for passes. He's a heartbreak in cleats...

Yup! Like I said, the pass "could" have been caught, but it would have been a great catch. I've seen the best (Jerry Rice, et al) fail to come away with chances like that on occasion. Desir was in position to still strip it if Trautman had extended with his arm between Adam's. But it absolutely wasn't a drop. I just wanted to point that out to anyone that didn't get a chance to actually watch the game.

And, yes, be patient.

They just need to be patient with Trautman - he's young and from a very different collegiate level than his peers.

It has taken many AAA TE recruits a while to start showing their true capabilities on the field.

I mean, it's not like Cole Kmet has lit the world on fire or Pitts, Howard, etc...
