McCoy's rookie season was before the #WuhanPandemic...

Saints graded Ruiz high, saw he was there, and McCoy had shown rare, elite speed to get downfield and so they thought to move McCoy to Right Guard...

But Ruiz was unable to grasp the offensive calls, limited time because of the pandemic, so McCoy stayed at Center and Ruiz was tried at Guard...

But if Ruiz can't grasp the concepts and reads at Center, then we've got to find another Center or Right Guard; Clapp would be the immediate remedy...

Clapp has the head for it, he's just has to get stronger, naturally of course...
Sorry, but I do not remember Ruiz being "unable to grasp the offensive calls" at center or not grasping "the concepts and reads at Center". That was his strength at Michigan. Where did you get that information? Ruiz never got the opportunity to handle center last season at all.

Saints 2020 Year-in-Review: Cesar Ruiz

"Coaches planned on McCoy, predominantly a guard in college at Texas A&M, and Ruiz to each have reps at guard and center during preseason games to find their best fits. Unfortunately, a nationwide outbreak of COVID-19 forced the cancelation of offseason workouts, preseason games, and limited training camp.

Coaches felt that leaving McCoy at center would provide the best continuity during a limited offseason. That left Ruiz to learn a new position at the NFL level with fewer reps."

Can't imagine why...

RT (2) 71 - Ryan Ramcyzk, 67 - Landon Young (R6, P206)

Possible mauler for years to come at LT? Landon has a lot of potential. Good, quick feet to say he's such a big man. Also uses his leverage/hips to get low.

JP - in the few highlights I've seen over the past few months, Landon really looks like a pure LEFT TACKLE. I think he can hold his own on an island out there.

Thoughts?

Major, the tell is in the language of the Ryan Ramczyk contract; he's going to get $1M bonuses if he makes All-Pro at Left Tackle...

Have you two ever been in the same room together? If you're planning to, I'd love to be there and I'll bet you'd come out best friends.
