Nice words from Winston.

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; All the well spoken words in the world can’t make up for his lack of talent. There was a reason Hill replaced him. He is basically a qualified backup in case hill keeps his fumbling problem...

Yeah, a number one overall pick with a 5,000 yard passing season and 34 Passing TDs sure indicates a lack of talent. Good to know you are pulling for him though 🙄

Did you forget the 34 ints? That’s not what the Saints need. You and I both know that.

Well, if nothing else at least he doesn't have 14 sexual misconduct lawsuits against him.

And glad to see he is trying to be the guy the organization needs off the field as well.

Edit: 16 lawsuits

It was 30 ints not 34, no I didn’t forget. That was his 5,000 yard 33 TD season. Plenty of QBs get by with a 16 TD 19 int season while throwing for 2,700 yards and no one says anything. Favre has a 24 Int season with only 19 TDs, but I guess he had no talent either, huh voodoo? Winston has never had a season with more INT than TD, there are Hall of Fame QBs that can’t make that claim. Get off your hate horse why don’t you and give the guy a chance.

Re: Nice words from Winston.

Brees threw 22 interceptions in 2010 and we still made the playoffs somehow.

If Jameis can just tone down the "trying to do too much" mentality, take what they D gives and throw in some deep shots, then I'm confident our D could give him some winnable games.

Re: Nice words from Winston.

Upon a quick search, I found that if you compare TDs to Ints during a season, you will find:

Elway has a -7 season
Favre has a -9 season
Eli Manning has a -9 season
Roethlisberger has a -5 season

All SB winning QBs, Yet some people want to get hung up on a season where Winston was + 3 and proclaim him unable to be
An NFL starter. Am I predicting a HOF career?...No, but if someone says Winston doesn’t have the ability/talent to be a starting NFL QB then they are Crazy. Hell, he’s got more upside Now than Drew did when he first got here!

Re: Nice words from Winston.

At this point I believe that Winston gives us our best chance of winning. It's hard to put his history behind him and give him a fresh start, but that's what I'm doing now. You can't fix stupid. But you can correct bad decision making. I'm pulling for him!
