Honestly, the fact that there isn’t much Fields talk these days makes him seem boring in the eyes of football fans... but not to GM’s. Hype is fan driven. Teams know who they want. It’s like when mock drafter’s get bored mocking Lawrence to the Jags so they try to justify Wilson at #1. If I were a betting man I’d say the 49ers have their eyes on Justin Fields.

Small school or not, Lance has that "it" factor. In the right system, I think he could become a very good NFL QB. Fields is kind of meh for me and I'm not sold on Trevor or Mac J.

Not sold on Trevor? I've seen a few say this. It kinda blows my mind. He's by far the best QB prospect since Luck. Before that it was Elway.

Re: Niners trade with Miami move up to #3
I think that when you commit to any of 3 players being your franchise QB a month before the draft, and your have the leftover of those 3 players at #3 overall, you risk a lot if any of the following happens to any of those 3 players in the next month:
poor combine or pro day workout positive drug test criminal incident bad wonderlic test bad interviews DUI public relations incident that would alienate your fanbase injury during workouts or extracurricular activity sexual midconduct allegation past health issue flagging in medical review etc etc etc One move that would be hilarious would be if the 49ers, having done this trade early, turn around and trade back in the draft and don't take a QB. I have never seen a team do this, but in theory if you trade away all your own future first round picks, and then turn around and trade for other teams first round picks, it would be like you are leveraging and betting on your own future. I would love for us to trade Saints 2022 and 2023 1st round picks for Falcons 2022 and 2023 1st round picks. |

I read the 9ers are convinced Atlanta will pick a QB so they wanted to get ahead of them. Maybe on the 9er's board there are only 3 QBs worth a shot.
