Re: Honest Question about Peat.
Starting off the top, I will not address injuries, no one can control those. Otherwise IMO there are five or six people on every message board that target their ire on specific players for lack of new rings. Just like we have our favorites we also have our unfavors (isn't a word, don't care will use it anyways, call it a sniglet for those old enough to remember that meaning) the most popular recent unfavors are Peat and Anzalone. Usually these posters ignore the body of their work and instead call them "garbage", "useless", and other unflattering/demeaning descriptions for not making every play, or having a bad game against world class opponents. "why couldn't O-lineman stop Suh /Barrett?! Garbage player!" "why couldn't our LB shut down the best TE's in the game when almost no one in the game can?" If Peat was a turnstile how did we have the last four seasons? Hyperbole IMO.

As far as Peat goes showing up in shape would be a good start. It would help his balance, ability to keep pass rushers off balance, and could possibly help him stay healthy. All in all Peat gets a bad wrap. His worse games come when players like Armstead go down. His fat contract just adds fuel to the hate Fire. |
