Everyone focused on Rankins, and I kept saying Onyemata was the better, more effective, and available defensive tackle...

Now light a fire under him and watch him start crushing quarterbacks as he did that time vs Cam Newton...

Cam was clearly concussed. That bastard didn’t know which way was up

And yet, the league ignored, at least suppressed, their own protocols...

Different rules for different players?

When you look at total television markets, Saints are easily the smallest, but amongst the most loyal, in the country...

League tries to spin they're support for their favored small markets like Pittsburgh and Green Bay, but it's very deceptive...

Factor nearly all of West Virginia (Pittsburgh) or Milwaukee et al Wisconsin (Packers), those teams easily have Top 15 market size/share in the league...

And with Carolina, probably the fastest growing market in the country, they're now a Top 15 total market as well...

That's why those teams get a lot of favoritism from the league (schedule, rulings, etc) even in their down years...

I’ve never understood the drivers for articles like this. If you want to write about how good a player is then do that, there is no need to frame it in controversy. Is the title intended to somehow trigger Onyemata?

The assumption that someone’s inability to recognize skill that another person sees is an intentional snub is pretty far fetched.

Some context. John Sigler is not only a Saints' Beat writer, but he's a fan. And it's annoying that national writers overlook smaller market players...

And you can probably safely bet some in the Saints' locker room asked why his contemporaries failed to acknowledge Onyemata, and that's what motivated the article...

I get that JP. When I look around me, I see a lot of anger and most people need no more fuel. I might have headlined and showcased Onyemata's skill sets and talent then closed with "and yet he still didn't make Touchdown Wire's top 11 interior DL list".
