We would be hard pressed to find much improvement from released players. Don't forget that the practice squads remain expanded just as last season so there are going to be fewer players available to choose from to fill any 53 man roster spots.

You can raid another team's practice squad; short of a team making a move to protect said player, they're no exclusive rights on those players...

Of course you can, but that player has to be activated to your 53 man roster. I'm saying that I doubt there's going to be many that we would be willing to do that for. Sure, a couple perhaps, but not many considering we would have to cut a player for the corresponding move. Our depth is better than some people around here think.
