this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda... This Giants team was close every week. And of course it had to be us to lose to them first. Team loss, bad tackles, and SP got too cute a few times....

Any Given Sunday.
Don’t bring your A game, you will get beat. Poor game plan, play calling and bad defensive performance from the Saints. Giants are a Pro team too, never stop fighting. |

This is two games Payton has called bad plays and not had his team ready to go.

Not kicking the FG early is an interesting development ... Didn't cost us the game , but it might have changed the dynamics of the game .

Re: Observation From the Saints' Loss to the Giants
Not much to say about this team… they’ll be luck at 9-8.
Awful performance by the D with terrible zone coverage. Offense was boring and poor play calling. This team just isn’t good enough. |

LET JAMEIS SLING IT. We’re a .500 team playing cautious offense and we won’t be making a run at it anyway so let Jameis be a gunslinger.

Re: Observation From the Saints' Loss to the Giants
Can’t dominate first quarter and a half and not score till last minutes of the half. Offense should have put the game away. Winston threw into dirt several times and generally didn’t bring a spark. Kamara came to play but started to lose his edge till Hill’s play put a spark under him and others again. Harris looked good and offensive line played well. Winston had plenty of time to throw and couldn’t finish the game off either. Coach is only going to throw himself under the bus so many times.

Re: Observation From the Saints' Loss to the Giants
Got absolutely nothing out of our pass rush, never hardly sniffed Jones let alone a sack. Which is pretty sad given how well we controlled the ball with the run and kept the defense rested. The pass rush sets the tone for the team. We lost our edge and the Giants gained confidence the longer the game went on. Peppers getting super excited after the Giants won the OT coin toss said it all.
