Observation From the Saints' Loss to the Giants

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Still makes no sense that they pass on a 46 yard FG attempt yet try to make a 58 yarder. Payton called this game as poorly as can be called....

And maybe putting your TE to block the best defensive player without any help wasn't such a great plan either on that play.

It's mystifying. In the GB game we rushed four, sometimes even 3, and we were in Rodgers face all game regardless. Now this week we had home field advantage and the added advantage of crowd noise, yet had 0 sacks and very little hurries and allowed Jones to go for 400 yards on 40 attempts. I think the defense ate the cheese and thought the Giants would crumble because of the environment. The much derided Garrett also basically outcoached Payton. Gotta be careful who you make light of in this league.

Have to have some type of WR that at least causes concern for the opposing defense.

Payton has to stop with this predictable play calling and trying to be cute. That Taysom power on 3rd and short was a terrible play call and so was the pass play for Taysom right after Winton was really getting into a rhythm.

And the blitz packages were non effective. We need Davenport back soon. Very little pressure on Daniel all game.

If I remember correctly Ramcyzk was blocking air on that play. It may have been his missed assignment that led to the hold. I'm not sure. But you're right Trautman vs Williams is a mismatch.

Careful neugey, apparently it’s not possible for players to eat the cheese. Us fans Mentioning so is a No No.

If mentioning eating of cheese is off-limits, then I'm okay with saying that the Giants wanted it more than we did. Especially in the second half that's what I saw.

Last week a beat reporter asked CSP about Rosas and his response was “he’s been good”. Fast forward to today, he’s still missing fgs.

Rosas should have been cut after the Patriots game.

Not sure how long we’ll be without Lutz, but I would have been all over Verity weeks ago.
