Packers offer Odell Beckham Jr. a veteran minimum contract..

The Green Bay Packers are offering Odell Beckham Jr. a veteran minimum contract to join the team, according to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Earlier Tuesday, it was reported that Beckham had narrowed his choices down to the Packers, Chiefs, and Saints.

A veteran minimum deal would pay Beckham, now his eighth NFL season, around $500,000 for the rest of the 2021 season.

General manager Brian Gutekunst doesn’t have a ton of money to play with, hence the low offer. Currently, the Packers have a little over $4 million in salary-cap space to operate throughout the rest of the year.

Sean must know how badly we are in trouble if he's going after OBJ.
Historically Sean normally stays clear of the high profile players with baggage.
I'm thinking of two of those category players he took a gamble on Dez and Jeremy.
Jeremy worked out but with Dez we never got to find out.

I think we were going to sign Antonio Brown if not for the fact that he wasn't going to be eligible to play in the playoffs that year. I felt like we should have signed him and just stashed him away until the following year. The thing about these players is, if they start causing trouble you don't have to keep them. You can move on from them whenever you're ready. It's only a problem when they're expensive. AB was going to cost us little to nothing, and OBJ will probably be a cheap rental wherever he goes as well.

Re: OBJ to Saints... anyway?

We are the only team where he would come in and have the opportunity to be the #1 WR. Yeah, he might get more targets or chances with KC but he will always be the 3rd option at best behind Hill and Kelce.

In GB, the 3rd or 4th option behind Adams, Jones, and possibly Cobb due to Cobbs previous work with Rodgers.

Especially with Harris heading towards a 3 game suspension. It is low risk and high reward for us. Otherwise we just ride it out and hopefully finish with a winning season running the ball 65-70% of the plays

One thing I can honestly say for the Coach it's all Saints Football, he seems to be in touch with his players.
Don't normally see a lot of drama swirling around the team. If a player is unhappy or cutting up in a detracting way they usually are out the back door.

Running the ball may be a problem now with AK hurt.
But if OBJ came here he would surely be the Top Gun.

Jekyll and Hyde; that’s the theme of this team and especially this defense. A Defense that played like it did against Seattle, Green Bay and New England is good enough to win it all with offensive production. A D that played like it did against Atl isn’t gonna win with the Saints Offense from 8 years ago.

I think Lord is referring to the Chiefs defense.

I was talking about the chiefs. But yes, I agree with you on our Jekyll and Hyde defense. At home they are very suspect against the pass. For some reason, I don’t know why but really solid on the road. That has to change

Side note here Bosty, do you say "Ca" instead of "Car?" Do you call it "Baston" or "Boston." Do you refer to Massachusetts as just "Mass?"

Bahahaha!!!!

On the flipside of that some good players are shown the door - f.e. Akiem Hicks

Nov 2 The Rams cut DeSean Jackson.
The same day Odell's dad shares his video.
2 days later the Brows release Beckham jr.
Nov 9 Beckham jr clears waivers
Today Beckham jr signs with...the Rams

Retrospect and hindsight and all that notwithstanding, but what did the Rams know, and when did they know it.

Can't say I'm surprised. The Rams are a very balanced team with weapons & Highland Park is a very good QB.

Saints need to double down & draft receivers in 2022. Enough of the late-round & undrafted guys.

Suh, Clowney & now OBJ ... I'm kinda over the "shiny object" syndrome. Continue to develop and get better through the draft.

It would shock the crap out of me. The NFL is a money making machine. Goodell could spend five years in an isolated cave having no contact with the outside world and it would continue to grow at the same pace. One thing that could knock it off its rails (even to a minor degree) would be a tampering scandal or something of the sort involving the league office. The league's newest and perhaps most influential partner, the gambling industry, would sh!t a brick.

They would like it, but it's not critical enough to screw the pooch. It's no longer about the size of the market, but more about the brand. The Rams name is more important than where they are located in today's world at the league level. It may be a different story at the individual franchise level, of course.

It will be so sweet when we meet the Rams in the NFC Championship game and win it at the last second with a bad call.

Sweet karma!

Coulda happened. Although he woulda been happy with OBJ going to help the Packers or Chiefs as well. The Rodgers thing has hurt GB’s chances though.

ever since the rams move to L.A., they have wanted them to win, then their was the missed no call which was the last straw. Rams is one of those franchises that seem to can buy everyone as well off FA market.
