Observations From The Saints' Win vs Bucs

Defense wins championships.

It feels as if we've turned the corner. Nobody will want to play us down the stretch.

Tampon fans and Tommie will cry injuries ... but so do we, IMHO worse than theirs.

Kicking game is back. Blake Gillikin is the real deal.

Listened to ESPN on my way in this morning. They were quick to point out that Brady is now 0-4 against the Saints in the regular season.

They also said that he should be able to get points on the board no matter who he has to throw to. Kind of surprised to hear them call him out like that. They said if you're the GOAT, you should be able to work with what you have.

Re: Observations From The Saints' Win vs Bucs

-Thats why they paid Hill.
-Jordan, Davenport and Ceedy.
-Defense Tua the SAME way. He likes to get the ball off on time and in rhythm. Hit him. Move him off his spot.
-That's what we wanted from Callaway all year.
-Onyemata with a good showing.
-A kicker hitting all his kicks.
-Creating turnovers.
-Trautman and Vannett have to catch the dang ball.
-All in front of them.

That game was more fun than all of Deshaun Watson's massages combined.

Brady is a baby. You know, we never saw Drew throw stuff or scream and yell at refs.

Brady does it. Manning did it. Rogers does it.

It was fun watching him get angry. lol

Taysom needs to figure out how to lead a receiver.

TE's gotta use their bodies and length to get those tight window passes.

Coaches have to help our fill-in tackles and guards how to figure out who to block, especially on sweeps.

Rather than just run Taysom right or left, how about an rpo or rro to keep the d honest? Does his hand have enough grip strength to execute?

TH's reads were mostly good - you could see him go through the progression tree, but that near pick at the end almost killed me how bad a decision that was.

We didn't get much help from the refs, but didn't get harmed either. This looked like a fairly officiated match, all things considered. Though gotta say, our wrs can't get separation like other mediocre wrs in the league, something seems a bit fishy.

Wonder what Brady said to Allen. What a chump.

I didn’t watch it, but after years of wasting great offense with bad defense it’s crazy how the tables have turned and we’re going to waste some great defensive play.

How is it a waste? We won. As for next year, we'll have both Thomas and Winston back and should be able to make a few additions. We'll be back in the mix again. But this season isn't over yet.

Special teams (Blake/Easop) and the defense won this game last night. Outstanding performance.

I hope Ceedy is ok. Saw him limping post-game. He's a firecracker, a difference-maker.

Maybe the pre-game injection in his foot wore off.

You've got to wonder how much longer we're going to be able to keep Dennis Allen.

That 8-28 record in his last try as a head coach soured the market a bit. Some great coordinators just can't cut it as head coach material. He may be seen as one of them. That's fine with me.

He also bumped the ref walking off the field after pic to seal the game.
and destroyed tablet

Agreed,
kick coverage outstanding, numerous players making plays
Winston Jr a threat
Maher 3 for 3
Gillikin having pro bowl season, no one asking for Morstead's return

Defense outstanding, ST may have actually played a better game the D

His absence was definitely notable on the defensive performance...

While I'd look forward to him taking over at SS as Jenkins' age has caught up to him; now, I'd rather just draft a 6' 2" SS and leave him in the nickel...

Dennis Allen had a night of nights; that said, I'd be more worried about losing Nielsen, Richard, Hodges and/or Giunta...

Our defense really came together when those guys took charge of their respective position groups...

It would have been cool if we could have had the 9 to 0 game on Thanksgiving as we were honoring Brees. But probably more important we swept the Bucs!

Hit the nail right on the head

Brady does it. Manning did it. Rodgers does it.

Three of the most Entitled QB's in history..

Side note: we're talking about the Manning we beat in the SuperBowl.
don't want to confuse him with Archie or Eli who are class acts.

Often an unsung hero, but he's done it so often now I think he deserves a mention - Blake Gillikin.

I used to think Morstead was a good punter and obviously remember him for the onside kick, but I don't think Thomas ever consistently hit the amount of punts Blake has that pins opponents inside their own 10.

Belechick failed at his first HC job as well, and that turned out OK. With a strong GM I think DA could do well, and it wouldn't surprise me if someone takes a chance after last night. I'm amazed he's been under the radar this long.
