We really need a two-gap, two blocker NT who can push the pocket into the passer...

The active rotation of practice squad, no names has worked effectively surprisingly...

David O is much more consistent than Hicks ever was too.

Unfortunately I can't find it either and I'm paraphrasing a little here, but I remember reading an article or a twitter post where Hicks said something along the lines of "better get 9 some protection or I'll make sure its QB2"

Hicks does not like Brees one bit apparently.

Thanks. I'll keep searching to try to find the context. I read everything I can concerning the Saints and I just couldn't recall ever coming across something like that. Could it have been a tweet by someone else attributing it to him?

By the way, here's a good video of Hicks "mic'd-up" facing Drew in the 2020 Wild Card! Check it out.

Of the QB's that may be available via trade or free agency, the only QB not named Jameis Winston that I'd want the Saints to take a chance on is Derek Carr.
Too much drama with Rodgers and Russell Wilson.
Garrapolo doesn't seem to have the "it" factor to take a game over. In fact, he seems to wither in adversity.
Deshaun Watson has so much talent but 22 women have filed lawsuits against him so that's maybe a clue that he's not what the Saints need.:dunce:

Playing Out Future QB Options for the Saints

How could things look for the Saints at the quarterback position in the new season?

JOHN HENDRIX JAN 16, 2022

The Saints are hoping to be a contender in 2022, and the biggest area of need they're going to have to address is the quarterback position. Currently, New Orleans has plenty of question marks going into the offseason. Here's a few thoughts on how things could play out for Sean Payton's squad.

The Current Landscape

As of now, the Saints will carry three quarterbacks into 2022. Those include Taysom Hill, Ian Book, and Blake Bortles. Trevor Siemian and Jameis Winston are set to be free agents, while Bortles was locked up on a reserve/future deal. It goes without saying that Hill's outlook is cloudy with his Lisfranc injury, which could keep him out around 6-9 months.

An Easy, Sensible Approach

The Saints could bring back Jameis Winston, who appears to be doing very well in his rehab from a major injury. Winston just turned 28, and there was plenty of evidence that the offense was starting to catch a groove with him at the helm. Now, there's obviously some risk in getting him given the ACL surgery, but many may forget that there was no procedure needed for the MCL. In a best-case scenario, Winston would be available for the start of minicamp for whatever team gets him.

What should also be considered for Winston is that he could explore options on his own. Although he's loved the experience in New Orleans, there's a possibility that other teams are going to be very interested in him. There could be a happy ...

Is Adebo the CB2 the Saints have needed all along?

He had his ups and downs, but for a rookie, he showed a lot of promise.

By Andrew_Bell@andy_b_123 Jan 17, 2022, 8:00am CST

It seems like the New Orleans Saints have been looking for a stable #2 cornerback pretty much ever since Tracy Porter left New Orleans in 2012.

Going back to the young Patrick Robinson days, the Brandon Browner days, and how could we ever forget the year some thought Ken Crawley might be the answer?

It looked like Jackrabbit Jenkins might be the guy after a solid 2020 year from the veteran, but it didn’t last.

But now with the emergence of Paulson Adebo, the rookie third round pick from Stanford, there is hope again.

Adebo showed some really nice flashes this season, displaying good ball skills and tracking abilities. He ended the year with a solid three interceptions and four pass break-ups – according to PFF.
