Bears DL Akiem Hicks tight-lipped about facing ex-teammate Drew Brees


“I don’t really talk about Drew Brees,” Hicks said. “Nothing to say about him.”

Sunday marks the first time Hicks will return to the Superdome since the Saints traded him to New England in Week 4 of the 2015 season.

This weekend certainly is important to Hicks, but he isn’t saying much -- at least, publicly -- about playing against his ex-team.

“No, no [there’s no extra juice taking on the Saints],” Hicks said. “Just want to play some good football.”

Then there is this from October of 2020:

“Do I appreciate how I was cast aside?” Hicks told Nathan Smith for ChicagoBears.com. “I wasn’t good enough to play for that team? No, I don’t appreciate those things.
