Re: Payton to take a year off?
I have a feeling his coaching days are over and I don't blame him. He said he wanted to absolutely take time away from coaching and would consider TV. He also said he "might" consider coaching again someday, but no time soon. Exactly what Bill Cowher said when he stepped down from the Steelers.

Re: Payton to take a year off?
CSP is in reset/recharge mode. A LOT happened in 2021.
Mike McCarthy's seat is very hot. If he does not get it done in 2022, you can better believe Jerrah Jones has Sean P on speed dial. The man is only 58 years young & still innovative as an HC. His coaching days are hardly over. Brace yourself for him to be wearing another team's colors in a year or two. |

Watch Payton's whole conference again. He looked so at ease and happy.

Sean P isn't done coaching. I know it hurts YOU that he decided to take the exit right after 14+ years in New Orleans but he's hardly done in the NFL. I remember Parcells being "done" with coaching too. Took a 2-year "hiatus", then came back & eventually took Patriots to the Super Bowl. It is what it is. |

He mentioned that he was fixing to move into a new home in n New Orleans. Who is knows what the future portends with SP.
