Why does no one see the obvious - Sean Payton gave up. He didn't retire/step away
He didn't have Drew anymore. Or a QB worth a damn so he quit. He gave up. I promise you if he had someone in the wings behind Drew worth a damn we would not only possibly be playing to go to the Super Bowl today, he would not have quit.
Let's just use Joe Burrow for example. For all the LSU Homers. And because he turned out to be awesome. Do you honestly think if we had Burrow he would have quit? He did not retire or "step away". HE QUIT. Let that burn in. He not only quit but he GAVE UP! |

Foxsports, really?
Sean Payton, out of anyone deserved to end it on his own terms, which is what he did. Not one of us know the toils of a Head Coaching job and what mental and physical tole it takes on someone, he served the team loyally for 15 years and brought a championship to a team that thought they'd never see one. It's very rare for a HC to serve a team for 15 years, most are shown the door after 2 years. I for one am grateful for all the years he coached and this team, despite some down years, was always competitive and could always beat top tier teams on any given Sunday. Thanks for everything Coach, even if it isn't retirement, enjoy whatever life has in store next! |

Well yeah, by definition he certainly did quit. What can we do though? Write him a strongly worded letter? I’m over hearing about Sean Payton. On to the future.

Blah blah, think he’s deserved to go when he felt the need to do so.

Ironic that you attack these professionals for their thoughts and opinions and broadcast yours and challenge anyone who disagrees? If the writer is a "blowhard", how you YOU self-describe?
