He went on to say that even when he is back at 100, that won’t stop the Saints from going out and seeking additional help (WR) in Free Agency and subsequent draft.

We shall see.

Absolutely all of this!

From everything Thomas is saying he wants to return and ball for the Saints. From everything the Saints are saying they want him back and balling for the Saints. From everything the salary cap says is that there's no way you take a huge cap hit by getting rid of perhaps your top asset when you need to do just the opposite. The Saints can clear around $10 million from the 2022 cap with a simple restructure (no approval of the player required) of his $15.35 million base salary and $450K in 2022 bonuses. All that is required is that he remains on the roster.

Your response didn't really respond to these points "Ghosting the training staff and coach about an injury and costing yourself a season on the IR is something else."

I don't see that to say he should have let the Saints make all decisions on his health. I want and believe MT will come back but to say he did nothing out of line is a stretch. Even if he didn't want the Saints input on his recovery plan not answering your phone to your bosses... I wouldn't expect to keep my job if I did the same.

MT put up above avg numbers when Brees was out for a month.

Taysom and Teddy were under center.

Yup. He averaged over 100 yards per game in 2019 in the five games with Teddy under center.

Bottom line, we're a better offense with MT in and focused on winning.

I'm sure of all people, HE's got to be ready to move beyond the last two seasons of full-tilt distractions.

If the team has moved on from his "ghosting the training staff and coach about an injury and costing (himself) a season on the IR" then I have no problem with it either. I just want the Saints to win games and that's it. Of course those of us with jobs could very well lose them for what Thomas "didn't" do, but then again, we aren't NFL record setting WR's that would be the most impactful offensive player on the team either.

Yeah, you know that, I know that, and I'm pretty sure everybody on this site knows that. Doesn't mean it wasn't a d*ck move on MT's part. I said I wanted him back, that doesn't mean he doesn't need to make up for it.
