That.
Plus he's grown, matured (somewhat) and maybe most important of all - players LOVE him. They'll rally for him. I'm not in the locker room, just going off what I've seen personally. Outside of landing a big name QB like Wilson or Watson, Jameis should be able to thrive this year and also allow us $ to surround him with talent. |

I honestly think this guy will be a STEAL from the FA market if we get him to stay and develop into a team leader. I was happy with what I saw up until the injury and I believe the organization would be foolish to allow him to walk without kicking the tires and seeing what's left to drive the bus! |

in large part do to Payton drilling into him to not turn the ball over. It seemed to me that was firmly in the back of his mind on most of his drop backs. It was working since his INT totals dropped so much, but it also made him a bit tentative. Another year as the starter in the same system with improved OL and WR play and I think he could easily be a top 10 QB. |

I also spent half my life in NJ and probably went thru the same school system as the poster. |

Re: Why Jameis Winston is STILL Saints best QB option
Winston has a very impressive arm that can bail a team out of bad drives. I am not sold on Winston being able to sustain drives, he was terrible on short passes/screen game, and although the interceptions went down in his 7 starts, the jury is still out regarding his overall decision making.
With all that said, I don't see Rodgers, Wilson, Jimmy G, or D Watson coming to the Saints. By default Winston is the best option that will be available to the Saints, with Bridgewater maybe as the top fallback option. |
