I'm not a fan of potentially losing Ceedy D anyways. Extend your dawgs.

But hey, I'm just a couch coach :p

Time to pull the offer... should have been done if he didn't commit by 4pm today. Can't look like you're begging. It's like the tail wagging the dog. It's not worth it. and it's not professional. We should know better. The problem is now many feelings have been hurt, on many teams. It's tough to repair those feelings. Gail should have told him, the offer leaves the millisecond I leave this room. The fear of loss is powerful. Let the other team overpay and and be upside down in the cap for years to come.

You're probably closer than you realize.

I don’t want Watson anymore. After watching what’s transpired over the last couple of days I’ve changed my mind. Dudes been out a year and is acting like he’s Brett Farve or some ****. Doesn’t want to play in cold weather, wants a say in roster moves, wanted out of Houston before all the crap went down. He’s being treated like he’s a HOF Qb and he’s really yet to prove himself. He’s a hell of a player with a lot of potential but I don’t like all the demands. Let him go to ATL and we’ll take Ryan.

You have your future firsts, you keep a good young players

Minshew is just about to turn 26
Career 41-12 TD-TO ratio playing for Jacksonville

Beef up the interior of the line and get in another RB. Beef up the interior of the line ready for a QB when you find one. Minshew wont lose you games with stupid turnovers. Stepped in well last year
4 games
68.3% completion
4-1 TD
Passer rating 104.8

On the worst team in the league in 2020(1-15) and being sacked on avg 3 times a game, he played 9 games. Spread them stats over a 16 game season

4016 yards
28.4 TDs
8.8 INT

Do for him what the Browns did for Mayfield when they were healthy in the playoffs two years ago. Let him make some throws but put the game on the defensive and running game.

Not like we have much talent at WR outside of a player who hasn't played or been healthy in approaching 2 years in September

Go get yourself another allround back that can come in this year and be part of a dup in 2023. The NFL OLB have been getting smaller the past few years, its one of the reason you are seeing the likes of Hunt/Chubb,Taylor get their yards.

In the words of the great Mickey Goldmill
“You're a greasy fast 200 pound Italian tank. Go through him! Run over him!”

Dude I like this. I like the potential and the cheap money. Would've been better with SP here but I'd take the moustache and see what he really has. That would be fun.

If we are going to be left unattended to our own impatient devices then let the conspiracies begin.

League revenues are down and in the near future Watson is going to be paying more than $300/hour for services rendered… Goodel asked Watson to sit on his decision so they could collect click revenue for a few days and promised him a small percentage to help cover the tanker of massage oil he is about to buy.

Irregardless of where he hands he better bring some thick skin. The Texans locker room may have this behind them his new locker room will have a boat load of massage material just waiting on him. :bng:

But I'm assuming if he's gone and we get Watson there's a Honey Badger sitting around waiting to see how all this plays out.

Plot twist...

Loomis convinced CGJ to to go to Houston as part of the trade knowing that there is only one year left on his contract and in 2023 Loomis gives him his payday making him a Saint in 2023. :bng:

Or... if you need something to settle your nerves. Logic being a decision is generally quick but emotion being a judgement takes time to get past. Emotions dissipate over time.

The longer he takes the more time passes, that dulls his emotional attachment to Atlanta. He knows that New Orleans is the logical choice for both career and compensation.

Havent seen this mentioned

"The Saints met with Watson a second time on Wednesday night, according to longtime Saints reporter Nick Underhill. That makes New Orleans the first team to be identified as having two meetings with Watson."

Today has got to be the day, right? There needs to be some kind of deadline to this saga. I dunno about you guys, but I'm exhausted, between it being the first week of daylight saving time and and hitting refresh on this forum constantly.
If he doesn't make his decision today, Jameis needs to have a new contract tomorrow.

I honestly do not blame him. He has until April 22nd to decide. That comes with the risk of having clubs grow impatient and retracting their offers to go in a different direction.

When agreements drag out it is generally because of contractual terms. Watson and his agent are 'probably' looking at an offer from New Orleans and Atlanta with different guarantees and similar but different Ts&Cs regarding conduct. Watson's Houston contract is only relevant for 24hours then the destination team can restructure it so I am sure Watson and his agent are also looking at what the restructure from each team looks like.

As far as Jameis Winston, he has had an offer from New Orleans from earlier in the off-season, him not being a Saint is on him. He is gambling that the Watson thing falls through and New Orleans panics and gives him a better deal.
