Dont sleep on why Blank did this himself instead of sending Fontenot or Smith either, Watson had issues with the Texans ownership not keeping their word and he wants to show Watson that he is different. This also keeps his pitch Falcons vs Texans not Falcons vs Saints.

This was my first though when I saw the news about the Falcons being in the mix. It wouldn’t surprise me if part of the reason the Saints got interested is because the Panthers showed interest first.
