General question : Is there a cost to opening new threads?

Hey folks,
I get some threads have inconsequential add-ons (general non Saints related free agents is a good example) and that I can understand. But do we have to have 4 mega threads instead of 8-whatever individual threads? Some topics do deserve their own threads: Winston coming back or our Minshew or another QB IMO deserves a thread of their own. I might be the only one, but I'm not on the board 24-7 so when I have to enter a mega thread and there are over a hundred pages, I usually do not know what page to enter the thread. When there's a significant Saints question can we (mostly meaning you) open a new thread? If free agent signings thread doesn't get any new threads from here to September, geez how many pages will it have??
