You have 14 Offensive Linemen (7 tackles, 4 guards, and 3 centers).. What are you adding?
Winston goes down, Dalton hasn't played 16 games since 2016. Since 2015 Dalton has had 4 injuries to the hands/wrists and fantasy predicts a 21% (Higher than Winston 19.2%) chance he will get injured this season if he plays. Leaves you with Book and no one. Winston is on a 2 year deal, Dalton is on 1 year deal, would it be prudent to have someone other than Book behind? |

Will this signing cost the team a comp draft pick?

Re: QB Andy Dalton Signed
The supposed threshold is $3 million per year to pertain to the compensatory pick calculations. I say "supposed" because there is nothing firmly defined. Dalton's deal "could be worth up to $6 million in incentives", but supposedly guarantees $3 million. So, yes, there is the possibility it could come into play.
I also heard someone yesterday on NFL Radio say that Trevor Siemian's deal with the Bears could possibly be counted toward the Saints somehow, as well. His deal only averages $2 million, so, who knows? Here's overthecap.com's guesstimate of the 2023 picks based upon signings so far. It includes both Dalton and Siemian in the chart. The Saints can be found under NFCS. Saints Overthecap Compensatory Picks 2023 |

I bet Godhell likes his hair color. Maybe he'll take a break from screwing us over. Nah! Just kidding. We all know he won't be happy until the Saints are sold and moved and we won't be happy until he resigns in disgrace.

And the Saints cannot be sold until Gayle passes on and as healthy as she appears she'll likely outlive Goodell himself.

Re: QB Andy Dalton Signed
Don't forget how competitive Dalton is. When Cincy drafted JB, Dalton made it a point to let everyone know that he wasnt going to roll over and hand the job over to the new kid. He still thinks he can be a starter.
