I dont know where Dalton played last, but I remember the last time the Saints got a QB, who had been with the Bengals, it was Jeff Blake, and that worked out pretty well.

It was Chicago last year and Dallas the year before. Dallas was a disaster for Dalton.

Still not sure why many are so against Winston (just reading the general room here, not the specific post I'm replying too). He was on his way to an excellent season last year when he got hurt. Looks like he'll be ready for training camp. And hopefully he'll have a fully healed MT13 back to work with. If he can continue to be the smart and efficient manager of the offense with the threat of gunslinging and potential bombing when necessary, Winston will be a big help to the offense in 2022.

Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO

Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good.

I agree. Jameis has potential but the media hates him and others like Stafford, so they constantly say they aren’t good or what have you. And people take that as gospel. Then when a player they’ve crapped on pans out. They can’t be man or woman enough to say you know what I was wrong. They’ll down play they good stuff and maximize the bad. They figure if I still say Jameis, Stafford, or anyone else they hate are trash, it’ll eventually be true and people will believe me.

You can see this in the national media coverage where they are still talking about Winston's 30 INT season even though that was 3 years ago and on a different team. It's like the scarlet letter that can never be erased, short of winning a championship.

Re: QB Andy Dalton Signed

Just thought of another wrinkle. Dalton played against the NFC north for many years. He likely has some familiarity with the tendencies of the teams in that division. Don’t we play 4 games against that division this year?

We're playing the NFC West this year. Or were you talking about the AFC North since he was with the Bengals for so long? That's who we are facing this season. I'm not sure how much he could share that the scouting isn't already up on, however.

Yes, AFC North is what I meant.

He’s played more than a few games against Harbaugh and Tomlin coached teams. Couldn’t hurt.
