They'll prolly all say... the market was RED HOT, and we were in danger of losing him.

The fairer question to ask is: Is three weeks early enough to justify the potential of a potential loss of a 3rd rounder for a backup QB, one that will hopefully not play. And does that also mean they have less confidence in Ian Book?

This move may be more controversial than we realize. We'll just have to see it unfold.

I don't see the logic in not making a move based on a pick that you "might" get. I am not saying a compensatory 3rd rounder is not worth anything, I'm just saying you shouldn't behave as if it is guaranteed.
