I don't take any issue with the Saints going up to grab Olave. There aren't many issues with this team. Interior offensive line maybe? But nobody can have a perfect team. I say go and get what you want and make sure you turn it into a ring.

I wish their was a "love" choice instead of just a "like". I couldn't agree more, Rez. As it is we are going to have good quality players not make the final cuts.

This makes sense rez, and obviously some teams feel this way. It works out sometimes. Sometimes it doesn’t. Wouldn’t you agree that this is one way to approach it but that other teams see it and have seen it differently with success?

Me either.

if Dennis Allen sits on his hands, Olave was gonna be selected by the Lions.

Totally agree with this. Gotta be aggressive in FA and draft when in win now mode. Can worry about stockpiling picks when in rebuild mode.

I think that there are definitely other ways to achieve a championship, but being aggressive when in win mode is the best way.
I think by not being as aggressive under Payton might have gotten us success to a degree, it made it much harder to get over the playoff hump and to the SB. But on the flip side we really never had to go through rebuild mode under Payton either, so there’s that

I'd actually like to have Sony Michel signed with NO as well.

Smart RB, appears to be a good "fit", has played on 2 winning (Pats, Rams) organizations, & only 27 with hardware.

I definitely don’t think there’s a one size fits all model. I think for an organization like ours we have to try and remain in constant contention because of the stigma of our history and with New Orleans not being a big market free agent destination. The moment we fall off for too long they’ll start saying I told you so and claiming we were only ever successful because of Brees and Payton when actually the late 80’s, early 90’s Saints were really good and we beat the Greatest Show on Turf for our first playoff win with Brooks and Haslett. We’re always going to have to be aggressive. We can’t afford to sit back. Even I’m contemplating every day on if I want to keep raising my kids here. Number three is on the way next month by the way.
