You thinks wrong. I'm not insinuating anything.

Here's a recap:
- Back to back 1,00yd seasons with Drew Brees.
- September 2020 sprains ankle, misses four games
- Hamstring before he can return, misses two more games
- Plays six games, zero TDs
- Ankle causes him to miss the remainder of the regular season
- To his credit, gutted out two playoff games on a bad ankle (5 rec 1 TD)
- Surgery delayed until June, misses entire 2021 season

So here we are. A top 5 compensated WR coming off ankle surgery who hasn't played a game since January of 2021.

You're damned right I want to see how he moves on that ankle.

The most critical piece for me was the lack of communication with coaches, medical staff, and team physicians.

Return a phone call, let people know the status of your ankle/rehab and what not. Mrs. Benson is paying you a TON of money.

But who knows what's inside the minds of star athletes .

I get what you're saying but who knows what actually went down - on either side!

But again, as a fan, I want to see him come back and kill it. I'll call myself cautiously optimistic.

Okay, I get this. That wasn't a good optic, for sure. But none of this creates any specific doubt that he can return to form after what is a fairly routine ankle surgery.

I really think the process bothers people more than a real concern over the ultimate recovery.

I'm trying to get this straight. So is it that you have doubts that the surgery will be a success? He hasn't played a game since January of 2021 because of an ankle injury. Players have surgeries all the time now and come back successfully. What reason is there to doubt that this would be the case with Thomas?

What does the fact that he's a "top 5 compensated WR" have to do with recovering from ankle surgery? I am genuinely confused as to what his contract terms have to do with any of this.

You seem to be upset about the process more so than concerned about the success of a surgery. I suppose I can understand that.

Guido, I'm sorry you're having trouble processing or accepting my view so out of respect I'll try one more time.

People have surgeries all the time and DON'T come back the same. I personally want to see how his ankle and potentially his hamstring hold up.

If I'm paying someone top 5 money to a key player that had surgery and hasn't played in a year, yes, I'm concerned about how well he comes back and ultimately performs.

Infer what you want but my comments and opinions are pretty clear.

I guess understand your concern. I just don't see as much of issue with a full recovery. Reconstructing a joint might be one thing, but what he had is basically Tommy John with tendons in the ankle from my understanding. Let's just say that I am a bit more than cautiously optimistic.

We should know soon, however.

Too bad Thomas doesn't document his recovery via Twitter as well as Winston. It may ease a few more minds.

Speaking of Winston and Twitter ...
