I get all the money concerns, but I also think with The Badger coming home both OBJ and Landry would like to do the same. I’d offer 2 years $18 million all fully guaranteed to Landry and let him wreak havoc in the slot. Calloway might have a bright future, but he’s no Jarvis Landry. Jarvis Landry is a high end WR2. Calloway is a low end WR2…more likely a WR3. We need undeniable talent at that position. We can’t keep doing everything the same way we always have. Some of it is great, but other stuff we have to start tweaking. The NFL is always in a flux. That Colston, Moore, Henderson, Meachem **** doesn’t work anymore. GB couldn’t get over the hump either with JUST Davante Adams.

Agree with everything here. He's just not worth 20 mil a year, and obviously no one is going to pay him that.

The point you are missing is that they didn't want just ANY WR, they wanted THAT WR and according to Loomis himself they didn't feel he would be there at #16 or #19. They may have been able to get him at #12 or #13, but that would require those teams being willing to move down. It appears #11 was their only shot where they felt confident they could get him. Loomis said today that there were other WR's that they liked, but Olave was the one that they wanted above all for several reasons. If Washington wasn't willing to make the trade from #11 they would have had to settle for what they felt was less.

Some WRs are no longer on the team, last time I checked.

Will Landry take a hometown discount?

Re: Jarvis Landry Signing With Saints

In two years $20 million per year for a front line WR will be a bargain with the way the cap is about to explode. QB numbers are already hovering around $45 million for the latest re-signings and extensions. These skyrocketing wages are mandated by the CBA as they are basically tied to league revenues which are going through the roof.

Current Rams roster.

SB Roster

One could make an argument that we're now similarly staffed in terms of above average/elite WRs and unknown/lesser known WRs. Of course, last year, MT was injured. OBJ was a late addition for the Lambs. OBJ spurned us, deservedly so. If Landry signs with us, we're better than the Lambs at the same WR position.
