This week is the make or break game, guys....

This game against a winnable opponent will decide if this team can actually make any sort of playoff run, or whether they will be struggling to go 8-8 or worse. I've been as pissed off as anybody about the way the Saints have played the last 2 weeks, but I'm not ready to give up on the entire season at 1-2. We have Buffalo, and then we have Green Bay, before finally meeting up with Atlanta. This would be a good time to go on a 2 game win streak before a big divisional game.

I said it a few times this week, and I'll say it again, at the risk of having egg on my face if the Saints keep up the horrible play: I DO NOT BELIEVE THE SAINTS ARE NEARLY AS BAD AS THEY'VE BEEN PLAYING. And deep down, most of you know this as well. We watched them in the last few preseason games....we watched them against Carolina.......and we know this team is solid. I wish I had an explanation for you guys as to what has happened mentally to this team...........other than the obvious effects of the back-to-back hurricanes playing havoc with their practices and travel. But that's behind us now. This week there are no excuses. They have a full 7 days to do what they need to do. There's no home game in New York. There's no short week resulting from playing on Monday Night. There's no Hurricane Rita to force them out of San Antonio. Their home game this week is in the same city as their practice facilities. If we don't see a completely different effort from the Saints organization this Sunday, I'll be shocked.

Let's give them a chance to rebound before we start talking about first round draft picks and new coaches after 3 games...

I think I heard this same speech after we got our clocks cleaned in pre-season, after the Giants game, and now after this game. Maybe not from you, but someone has always stepped up to try and put a rose on this pile of crap. Even if we do win, this is not gonna change the fundamental problems with this team, bad coaching, bad QB, greedy owner, no accountability for mistakes. Period. I mean this is a nice rally the troops speech and all, but it's about as meaningless as that four game win streak at the end of last year, which I said then was the worst thing that could have happened to this team. All it did was lead to a new year with the same problems. I will be the first one to be humbled if we do anything close to playing like we should, win games we should win, and actually look like a team. But we don't play Carolina every week unfortuantely. Until this team proves otherwise on the field, rah rah words is not gonna make anyone feel better about them, cause it's the hype that came into this season that have so many feeling so low right now as it is. Let the team do the talking.

yeah smells like the same crap that got said after the just humiliating loss to the cards last year. you know the one where 75 year old emmitt smith looked 20 again. yep we played one good game this year and for some reason the only team we can get it together against is the panthers. we may win this one only because the bills are pathetic on offense. then again we may loose 20-10 to a team that just got beat by the bucs and falcons. we are going no where under has. it is just obvious. the team stinky. i hope they win this weeek. gambler man i like your raw raw but we all know this team was this bad last year, the year before and on and on. this team has loved to do this under has come to think of it. beat the rams at home in the playoffs go on the road and have the vikes destroy u. be 7-5 with 4 games to go and then go to tampa and have the bucks put a 40 spot on you. you know how we do.

Your team stinks

i just gave my synopsis in another post. but how good are they? i don't think we will know under haz. you can only be the most exclaimed underperforming team in the league for so long. then people start questioning the talent itself. 2 straight wins possible? sure. i am looking for something more than wins or losses- solid good play. that is what is getting the nicktator props no matter where the fins go. you can see the difference in play of the team whether win or loss. do that, then the wins will fall into place eventually.

That was all Brooks' fault.

2 wins in a row are possible, but not because the Saints are that good... it's because the Bills (1-2) and the Packers (0-3) are that bad. By the time the Saints play the Pack, the Pack is going to be 0-4. Then again, who's better than the Saints tat giving 0- teams their first victory of the season?

What's it been, three years now of playing like this? Ever since they beat the Bucs at the 'Dome in 2002 this team has looked like it did last week. What good is talent if it doesn't perform as a team, at a high level, on a consistent basis? Inconsistency is poison in the NFL. For years we've been acting as if the Saints were infected with it. Maybe it's been flowing in their bloodstream all along.

YEP!

Saintfan, When are you going to just realize we are going keep blaming brooks for everything.

Hell, I lost wallet last week but found it after AB bobbled it after he swiped it from me. All I could do was thank God AB has butter fingers.

Now to the serious stuff. I do think we have a good chance to win both of these games for the same reason that Reiper stated. If they do we will get a false sense of hope going into Atlanta. Don't get me wrong this team CAN beat all three of these teams. However, I don't see it happening guys.

Good rally speech though Gambler. Just it is pretty hard to believe they WILL do it. I am not giving up on the season. I'll be right there with the rest of you cheering, if and when we make good plays, and cursing the idiotic ones.

"We are number one. All others are number two, or lower."
