We'll see... it's not it's like it's an achilles injury. Depending on severity, there is an outside chance for a return late n the football year.

Even if it's just in a limited "Strief" role as an extra lineman on some plays - it would be beneficial to his development.

Per the reports I've read, it's a completely torn ligament.

6 months minimum.

Ice up Trevor.

Ask Mark Ingram how long it takes to come back from turf toe. My foot froze up following ankle replacement surgery and the biggest problem has been the turf toe that just won't heal fast enough. Get well soon big guy!

Ingram was diagnosed with Turf Toe December 4th 2011 Surgery in Jan 2012 then missed 5 games in 2013 for the same pedal area.

I found this and as you pointed out, it seems that it depends on the severity: "Grade 1 injuries may resolve partially or fully within one week. Grade 2 injuries may take around 2 weeks to resolve. Grade 3 injuries may require anywhere from 2 to 6 months before healing is complete."

So to Boston's point, expect him back sometime between Friday and February.

I'm hoping for Friday but betting money on February. My guess is the Saints are too.
