Team all looking good. Glad to get a win in preseason. It is still preseason. Reserving judgement till the real bullets fly.

Re: Observation from the Saints win vs Chargers
I've just rewatched the play and it was such an unnecessary move made by Johnson.
His only job there is to seal the backside edge, but theres 2 things in play here; - Penning basically took 2 players out of the equation due to his size anyway. There was 100% no need to dive low at anyone at all, by the time Johnson has dove, Ingram is already past him and in the end zone. Why not just stand up and read the defenders, rather than just diving with no thought and taking out your own teammate? - The ball was snapped on the 2 yard line and with Penning creating the shield he does, it's unlikely that the outside defender gets even close to Ingram in any way shape or form, when Ingram is only reading the A or B gap. Such a stupid, unnecessary move that Johnson should lose game time for. |

I found this and as you pointed out, it seems that it depends on the severity: "Grade 1 injuries may resolve partially or fully within one week. Grade 2 injuries may take around 2 weeks to resolve. Grade 3 injuries may require anywhere from 2 to 6 months before healing is complete." So to Boston's point, expect him back sometime between Friday and February. |
