Taysom.... is da man. keep the prima donna on the bench, trade him, get a better QB and the saints just may keep winning. Remember....all that money sitting on the bench, and saints won without the prima donna.:dunce:

As far as Taysom being a starter ... we saw in the prior years it doesn't work. He needs to save his arm and energy and have some snaps to rest so when he does play he can be the sprinting trucking all-out dynamo that scares defenses. Which is understandable - he's not young like Lamar Jackson or Jalen Hurts or Josh Allen.

Hard to watch our WR get now so depleted. Wondering where our promising practice squad rookies are .

Taysom can do it all. MVP today. Maybe he need to start at QB... Since his unpredictability is so key.

Overall some improvements, but much still to do if we're to be an above average team. Parity play gives the Saints a chance! :bng:

Except when he’s Qb all the time he’s predictable. It’s either a RPO or a mental struggle trying to read the defense. Every once and a while he will drop a bomb to a receiver that got lucky enough to be on the right end of blown coverage but that’s about it. I guess you can add injury to the predictability column too.

wait, how can this be? All the sports media experts and all the armchair coaching experts said Taysom Hill was not a QB. Yet he took about 10 snaps at QB today and single-handedly won the game. I'm so confused. Com' on sports talent experts, help me out here. Help me make sense of this strange anomaly.

Very simple. Seattle has a bottom 5 run defense in the NFL and a bad defense in general. Against that a 1930 Army-Navy offense which is what we get with Taysom at QB will work like a charm. But against a better run defense Taysom will look like Tim Tebow. What Tebow could only do in college, Taysom can do against bad defenses on good days in he pros, but not consistently or durably.

Agreed! And they finally let him throw one which is a must too keep the defences guessing when he is in.

Re: Observations from the Saints win vs Seahawks

* Remember that time when Taysom Hill beat the Seahawks?
* O-line shows some really nice flashes in the running game, two 100 yd rushers doesn't happen just by accident.
* Both our guards are at their best when pulling, Ruiz had a great block clearing the way on the long TD run by Hill.
* Ingram looks finished, less than 2 yards per carry in a game where Kamara picks up 4.5.
* Some terrible pass coverage on defence, Mathieu looks lost a lot of the time and we need Maye back now. We are missing 3 safties from last year and it shows.
* Dalton looks poised under center, I like how he moves in the pocket to avoid the rush. His numbers aren't spectacular but he was decently effective with our 4-6 string WRs.
* Smith is doing a great job blocking but is still up and down when catching the ball. A really nice diving catch early in the game but an easy drop late on a gimmie play.
* Pass-pro needs to improve, too much pressure on Dalton.
* Al Woods was a menace, I hadn't heard his name in quite a while and didn't know he was still in the league.
* Geno Smith is a lot better QB than most people gives him credit for. He has a couple of really good WRs to throw to too.
* Some good pressure from the DL. Jordan and Davenport doing a great job replacing eachother and "spreading out" when chasing Smith outside of the pocket.

When Taysom played in previous years as the starting QB, the entire offense was depleted with injuries. The line was gutted and we had no receivers or backs. I don't think he's been given a fair evaluation.

Last year we had the same oline plus Terron Armstead and Trevor Semian looked better than Taysom Hill.

Would Adrian Peterson be an upgrade over Mark Ingram? He has probably had enough time to recover from his boxing concussion.

Dalton again, wasn't perfect but he looked like he saw the field much better than Winston would. His decision making and accuracy are way above Winston's.

We still need a franchise QB but Winston should honestly be 3rd on the depth chart.

Season still early, find a trade partner for him
maybe we can get an 8th round pick in 2050

That 69 yard TD run they had, Mathieu took one of the worst angles I've seen a safety take.

On the Locket TD pass, all 4 DB's just stood there and let it happen, but Mathieu saw the whole play and just jogged behind everyone.

We've lost way too much talent in the secondary and it shows, because these new guys aren't cutting it, and to be frank, Lattimore and Adebo are playing very poorly too

Adebo yes Lattimore no. Lattimore didn't give up a td yesterday .
