One team winning it all every year becomes just as deflating as every team finishing at 8-9 or 9-8.

If the league is smart, they'd want more dynasties. Attention to the NBA was never higher than in the Bulls Jordan heyday when you either were on the bandwagon with them or you were part of the resistance against them. The same thing kind of happening when Dallas/SF were at the height of their powers in the 90's and the other teams were left with scraps. Dynasties create a lot of attention and contempt.

And to think I didn't start that petition, but would sign and support it

Sacre Bleu! Good for France... they didn't buy into this scheme! :bng:

The NBA needed that attention since they weren't getting it any other way. No sports league has ever been as successful as the NFL is today. Gone is the need for attention grabbing. No longer is there three networks and the daily paper with only four games being broadcast. The 32nd ranked team has more revenue generating power than the top clubs from those eras all put together. The playoffs and Super Bowl are guaranteed mega money producers regardless of the teams involved. Regular season demand is driven more by the relevancy of the games aired. The more teams alive as the season winds down the better for the broadcast partners. Every game every week is available for broadcast somewhere given all of the broadcast sources. I just don't see "dynasties" as still being a driving force as they were "back then".

France is wanting to "buy in" according to articles I have read. That's why games are being planned there, too. The Saints would be the perfect team for their market.

Where do I sign? The guy have a diamond in the rough in Rasheed and don’t know how to involve him. Dalton is horrible but able to retain the starting job. If the shoe was on the other foot he would have been yanked after that 1st interception in the red zone before the 2 pick 6. You need an alpha man to lead this team; DENNIS ALLEN is not the one. Have a Lamborghini with Ray Charles in the driver seat

After all the injuries and the handling of Winston. I would be surprised if any free agents will even consider coming to New Orleans with DA as head coach

Fair points. Maybe we are in a middle ground. I think dynasties still give the all the preview shows, talking heads and other media extra things to talk about, and gives richer substance to the league and it's history. The Chiefs are somewhat of a dynasty right now, and if the Bills overcome them in the playoffs it'll be much more memorable and draw much better ratings than say, the Bills defeating the Chargers to move on. And then Bills and Chiefs have an even bigger rivalry moving forward, strengthening all the "which is the better team", "which has the better QB" discussions.

But to Guido's point, something will always fill the vacuum - whether it's Deshaun Watson's legal troubles, Tom Brady's divorce, Tua's concussion, Aaron Rodgers' tattoo, etc. etc. People will find a way to be passionate about these topics too. But if I were commish, for the best health of the league to be highest, I'd want them to be passionate about the games/rivalries on the field as much as possible instead of the side topics.
