SP Putting Together a Staff

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Final thought - I think there are a handful of coaches players would give anything to play for today. Andy Reid has to be up there. Belichick, maybe not so much. Certainly Harbaugh, Mcvay, Tomlin... But Sean Payton could easily ...

But Sean Payton could easily be top 3.

That's worth multiple 1st round picks.

Yes... but we don't care, do we, as Saints fans? The Hershel Walker trade was monstrous and not worth it for the team that got him. But the team that benefited the most got all those draft picks. We are in that now enviable seat, except it's for a highly marketable HC. We SHOULD get value for this. The last thing we want is a Ceedy Deuce type trade. Teams are going to try for that, of course. But some team will buckle and pay the price.

Gut is telling me Payton will go to the Texans. They have a ton of draft capital to send to us plus rebuild their own team thanks to the Watson trade. The QB position is also basically open for him there to draft or bring in whoever he wants.
