We needed to cut the deadweight. With them gone we have still only have FIVE slots on the 90 man roster open for free agents. Luton's spot was a waste the second we drafted Haener. Gore was gone when we signed UFDA RB SaRodorick Thompson. That leaves us with six RB's (Kamara, Williams, Miller, Washington, Benjamin, and Thompson) and one FB in Prentice.

I would love for Drew to come in a coach the qbs or just help anyone he can. It would be nice just to have him around the players and remain a part of the organization

He would have been politely told there are two numbers not available any longer ... 8 and 9. Not officially retired numbers, but not available according to a Jeff Duncan article last year.
