Saints on 2023 Hard Knocks?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I won't be watching! Well, if there are fights at camp then I might tune in to see the action. Otherwise, I'd rather watch Looney Tunes reruns....

I honestly think it's for the best because we are bringing in a new QB and that's just a little bit more pressure piled up on Carr. If this was a young team or something that had shown some improvement last year but still didn't make the playoffs, then I'd be ok with it... I don't think it'd be as much of a disruption. We are undergoing too many changes this year and it'd be nothing but a distraction.

Well said hitta! It would be good to see how things come together at training camp, but with a team on the edge of greatness, it would be a distraction from football focus. Besides, I like it when no one knows who we are. We're flying under the radar baby!

This team has so many more weapons and other pieces than the decimated roster we were forced to play with last season. The pundits aren't looking at that. They just look at last year and expect the same production ignoring over half the players on the roster this year didn't play at all last year or missed significant time.

I'd NEVER miss an episode, but realistically these networks are all about ratings. Dennis Allen is too bland & boring so the Saints are probably out of the running in 2024.

Bears, Broncos, Saints can be forced to do Hard Knocks in 2024 training camp

If we hire Gruden, the first piece of revenge will be very straightforward for Goodell. Goodell has always cared more about his own personal power than ratings. Trying to destroy the reputations of some of the leagues most marketable quarterbacks and coaching personalities in Brady, Brees, Payton, and Gruden with manufactured scandals in deflategate, bountygate, and the Gruden leak was never good for long term ratings because it diminished stars, but it was about Goodell showing his power. If the Saints defy him by hiring Gruden, the Saints will be on Hard Knocks unless another team defies him worse on some vote or hire.

I hope not.

There are better options out there.

I'd love to see us on Hard Knocks. They'll probably screw us by not letting us do it, though.

I am ok with us doing Hard Knocks too because I want DA and Loomis fired, I think Gayle is asleep at the wheel, and when you want to make a casual person aware of something, broadcasting it on TV is a good way to do that. I don't expect that DA and Loomis would come across well on the show, it would put many of their promises and claims on the record, and could help to get them fired. Hard Knocks would be fun to watch as a fan, but could hurt the teams focus, so why not do it in a season when more focus will only hurt our draft pick, with a hard schedule, lame duck QB and coach, old roster, likely losing key stars and replacing them with dead cap, and a divided locker room. Lets at least enjoy the drama!

The other two teams in the running are the Broncos and Bears. While Goodell would love to screw Sean Payton, screwing the Waltons is complicated for Goodell, and the Broncos do not look to be a very interesting team. With two high 1st round picks the Bears could be more interesting, but I think the Saints are definitely in the running as a team Goodell may like to screw and also can.
