Re: Cards, Texans permitted to interview Sean Payton
The continued leaks and reporting with his new best friend in L.A., Colin Cowturd. Sitting back and truly listening , body language , seeing the tell, understanding , keeping your eyes wide open. It's all happening before our very eyes.

Re: Cards, Texans permitted to interview Sean Payton
All he said in that whole interview about compensation was what was already out there from Loomis and other sources. He simply confirmed it by telling Cowherd that Loomis told him he was telling the inquiring teams that it would take a 1st rounder plus other picks. I still don't understand how that is lobbying? Compensation remains entirely between the Saints and their individual trading partner. Payton has no affect on that whatsoever.

And Loomis is capitalizing. We're getting at least a 1st rounder plus other picks in compensation. It's looking more and more like it will be Denver and all they have in the 2023 first round is the 49er's pick and it's going to be down near the bottom. Hopefully that means we'll get, say, the 2023 2nd and third, and their 2024 2nd, for example. That'll be pretty solid. |

Just look how brazen this move above was. Flores bulldozed it up pretty good. It wound up costing Miami significant 2023 draft capital as it turns out as the punishment was very recently unhurled by RG. What escapes me on what happened there is that one party that was significantly harmed was the Saints. That's how little Shiotes SP gave the Saints in trying to get this deal done behind the scenes. Should the Saints at least not get the first round pick from the Dolphins , the one that just got taken away, from the tampering that went on there ? There has to be a cost, right? That's why Loomis needs to go for the jugular . | |

I hope the hell I'm wrong, but I seriously doubt I am in this case. |

Re: Cards, Texans permitted to interview Sean Payton
Yup. They got a ring that very first year with Dungy's players and a roster that had made the playoff the previous three years in a row. They then had a losing record three of the next four years winning only four games once and five games in another. They were slammed as overpaying for years after the move. There have been other trades of coaches rights over the years and none were anywhere near that level. As I said, it was an outlier.

That's not how the Patriots are run. QB Purdy is proving it all over again. It's not what we think, it's what we can get . And we can get a lot. And we should, including Miami's recent #1 taken away by RG.

None of them felt we could get multiple 1st's. If we said "two 1st's or no deal" I would suspect that one and only team in the running would say "pound rocks" and simply sign their second choice for HC and use those picks to better their team.
I fully understand you want more and you expect more, but WE are not involved in the hopeful transaction. Once again, Smash, I hope the hell I am wrong, but I seriously doubt it. Oh, and that Brinks truck will be backing up. It'll just be at Payton's front door with $20-$25 million per year. |
