Sure, Carmichael deserves some blame, but not all of it. There's few coordinators in the league that could have won with what we had to deal with personnel wise this past season.

Let's also not forget that SIX of our loses came against eventual playoff teams. Those are games you are supposed to lose when fielding backups in key positions.

Dallas will probably call (lots of coaching vacancies) on Kris to work in some capacity. Maybe even with SP in Denver.

Most of us know how well Dan Quinn can assemble a defense (see Seattle and Dallas).

I wish Kris all the best.

Great point you made here Guido. No quality depth9 (maybe because of lack of draft picks), better OC's out there could have called better games and playoff teams beat us 6 times. Don't know about you but that statement alone says we're not close to competing. Oh I'll add our DC's have bailed and Allen only let a RB coach go ( that's a sign of good leadership) I'm curious who really wants to come to a sinking ship under Allen watch. They are going to be hard up for a job to work under this clown.

My guess is that Richard's and Allen's philosophical differences may have involved defensive playcalling duties. We all know Allen doesn't want to give them up, nor would I want him to. This hire would make that less of an issue.

OTOH, the flip side of that could also be argued. Just how many of our wins could have been losses... all except one or two maybe? We're not that far off from a 3 win season... just has to be next year to reap the proper benefits. We have to purge and clean up our cap and infuse real good young talent on rookie contracts.

If we're going to suck, might as well suck and not be way over the cap. It's time to clean up the CC.

Oh great, Allen is bringing in coaches from his Raiders days, we are now building the 2014 Raiders here. Gotta love that.

You are assuming we are going to suck. Nobody knows that without some sort of crystal ball. I would prefer we not suck as opposed to wishing we would. Not saying you, Smash, are among those wanting us to suck, but they are out there.

Oh, and by the way, I counted only two of our wins that were close (less than 7 points) and they were both to the Falcons. Four of our losses were four points or less. Almost all of that with a backup QB.
